5. Sand Hotel
Can you imagine a sand castle that is also a posh hotel? Well, people in the town of Dorset have seen it with their own eyes, and so can you! Back in 2008, the Sand Hotel became a real tourist bait as more than 1,000 tons of sand were used to build a huge sand castle on Weymouth beach. Sand builders spent around 14 days creating this marvelous structure, gracing the town of Dorset with one of the most unusual hotels in the world. The only drawback was that the hotel was not built to last long – we still don’t know if it’s standing right now, or it was destroyed by rain and tide.
